It looks better than it tastes, AND it feels better than it tastes too. It just tastes…

As my doctor slowly eases me of predisolone after 3 long years of pain, I look for alternatives. Some legal, some illegal.

This drink is legal, but tastes illegal! It’s that bad. I thought I would dress it up with strawberries 🍓 but honestly who am I kidding?

Tastes like medicine! But Feels so good after.

But I’m also kidding myself if I don’t realise that deep down at a molecular cell level, something amazing, extraordinary is happening. 

Even though I wake up in pain, and it does nothing for my bone disease, my iron levels are up, my mood is up, my bulge has gone, energy up, and lots more positivity enough to make you sick of me.

I tell all my studentss on the A* GCSE maths program,  “Don’t tell anyone you get extra tuition, not your teachers, your friends, your family, nada!”

Why? It’s so good, it’s so amazing, they see it…and it makes them sick of you with jealousy! 

They will notice a confidence sprouted from nowhere. They will notice you are helping then in class. They will notice your homework is top’s.  They will notice your grades are better. They will notice you move up sets. They will notice that other people are noticing. 

Moral of the story 1: The teaching is better than the platform (I write on a school white board, school style platform)

Moral of the story 2: The feeling your child will feel after is better than the platform too.

Moral of the story 3: Its not the platform that counts, its what you feel and gain afterwards that matters.

Its how you feel that matters!

Teacher says Award for Most Improved Student and Only After Two Months!

I can tell immediately what grade a student will get after one lesson.🤔

After a few lessons, I am sure of my estimation.👍

After a few months, the teacher confirms it.🤸‍♀️

Well, this student has only been with us for a few months. Her dad was hesitant at the beginning.😕 She will start later, after Christmas,  after Easter, after this and that.

But this student was like…”I am starting today dad. Just pay the damn woman!”😤

I don’t know this child personally, I only spoke to her once on the phone to double check if this was the right fit for her.

Most Improved student goes to our student only after 2 months!

She didn’t even have a trial session. She just started without hesitation. 

But I met her dad a few times, on my doorstep.🏠There was nothing I could say to convince him. Not even…she will get an A*.

But obviously she knew after one lesson, if it was not right, she leaves. Its not rocket science. 🚀

And I know, trial sessions are the make or break. If you like us, if you like how we teach, we continue. If you don’t, we go our separate ways. Again, It’s not rocket science. 

The picture on the post is self-explanatory. The teacher says, If there was an award for most improved student, it would go to her. 😃 And she is well on her way to getting a level 7, (that’s an A if your not sure).

In a few months we will come back to this post, after her results are out. 👌

Because, I estimate this student to be a definite 7 without any extra work, strong 8 with a bit of work and most likely a 9 if she puts her head down 🤓. 

And hopefully she will prove her teacher wrong and get a level 8/9.🙌

The Accountability Session, Maths Tutor Online GCSE

If four sessions a week wasn’t enough, we are now offering another!

The Accountability Session. 🤩

One of the hardest parts of extra tuition is actually getting homeworks 📑 off kid’s. For parents is actually getting kids to do the homework.

Over the years its been an on going struggle, between parents, myself and a child. I never nag a child for homework. I nag the parents.

Although, one thing I am super happy and proud about is how all kid’s sit in the sessions. They see me more than they see their own school teachers. Credit to them. 😃

Another session! The Accountability Session

Some sit one sesh, some two, some three. Year ten’s and eleven’s normally sit all four. Four sessions is alot.

So, why would I offer another sesh with no extra charge? Results 📈. We need to see results!👍

Although, I am not overly active or strict on homeworks, I still want to see some pieces. Sitting in sessions is more than enough, in my humble opinion.

But at the end of the day, they will sit an exam. They will sit for an hour and answer questions. Now thats something that takes skill, therefore practice. 😉

Alot of the kids are pretty good and do the homework I set. But, I have had some kid’s say their mum tells them to do the homework, but they sit and do something else. 😲

How can we overcome this problem? 🤔

They will sit in this accountability session with ME and DO the exam paper, once a week. I am hoping this session will take away the extra stress 😩 on parents and even myself.

Bottom line is…I want results, you want results, (they also want results but can’t see it just yet). Thats all. 😀

Head of Year says she has grown in confidence, coupled with successful attitude and hard working mindset! Moved to…top set! Maths Online Tuition

I love it when mums send me a message to say, their kid got excellent results, moved up sets, but its something else when mums say their head of year teacher has noticed a shift. 

In this case he noticed her confidence has rocketed, and she has an appetite for success coupled with hard working attitude.

With all due respect, this student is already brilliant. I can’t take too much credit. 

Or maybe I will, as this is a common transformation within ALL my students. 

I can notice a shift in their voice tone, how they speak, how they answer questions, or if they can answer questions. They exube a different energy to when they first start.

I never tell them but we cover the really, really, hard topics that kids absolutely, 💯, with out a shadow of a doubt hate, such as percentages,  fractions, ratio, trigonometric identities, 3D Pythag/trig, perpendicular gradients…

And we leave school to cover the easy stuff. Only the thing is, school stuff is not easy when you don’t have extra tuition…its still really really hard.

That way we meet half way. And this way you get an A*/7/8/9.

So proud of ALL my students…well done!

I love a good rant, Maths Online Tutor, mindset

I love a good rant. 🗣

Especially when its about the colour of my skin or the way I dress. AND especially when I know with out a shadow of a doubt that I am RIGHT! ✅

So, I went to Blackburn hospital the other day to get bloods 💉 done and the security guard 👮‍♂️ stopped me in my tracks and said, “Put a face mask on!”

I grabbed one off his table and proceeded to put it on under the mask I ALREADY HAD ON. My niqab. Lololol 🤣🤣🤣.

But then he stopped me again, “What have you come here for?”🤔

Now, can you imagine if it was my private parts or something I would be shy to mention. 😬. Thank god it was only bloods because I’m a rubbish liar.

Normally, I would have walked off mumbling friggin dickedd, but I thought to myself…

What a lovely security guard. 😃

Giving added protection to the world and making sure I hadn’t mixed up the shopping centre with the hospital!😆

I have been known in the past to cause a ruckus over nothing. But this time, not only did I comply with the guard, but I thought wonderful thoughts of him.🤩

This is something all my children 👨‍👦‍👦 on The A* GCSE maths program™ will understand what happened to me in the hospital.

Because this is also something I teach them. MINDSET. (Funnily its something the parents are enjoying more than the kids themselves.)

Hopefully, not only will they do really well in their exams, they will do really well in their life moving forward. And thats all we hope for in the end, for every single child.

🔴 Moral of the story 1 – Security guard was a bit weird but I learnt not to make a fuss. AND yes I leant it, over months and years of…sorry but its in the program.

🔴 Moral of the story 2 – Don’t judge a book by its cover. I may be dressed like someone out of the Sahara desert. But I speak better English than most English people.

🔴 PS – I don’t wear niqab to teach my children. I’m not that religious!
