I know, I know, the cooked version looks disgusting, but trust me the raw version was 🤮…(swipe to see pic)
This is F..bleeping brain!! Bleeping 🧠 sheep brain!!
Yum its brain food!
All that comes to mind is that movie, ‘Raiders of the Lost Ark’, where they all dine out at the kings Palace and open up the monkey’s head to eat…brain.
I don’t know how I got through that 30 mins of cooking it, but trust me, I was wearing plastic gloves, a face mask and poked it with a stick like a silly kid.
But, what if I told you that this silly kid 🤪 is working with some of the most amazing kids?🤩
And these amazing kids 🤩 are following some of the most amazing lessons.
And these amazing lessons are just what’s going to get them to the next level in their amazing life.
These kids 🤩 are the next generation of high achievers. Even if some of them scrape a pass in these exams, they will carry something else with them in their life going ahead.
👌Something, school does not teach them.
👌Something, parents don’t teach them.
👌Something, some parents might try to teach them but don’t quite know how.
Unfortunately…its a secret thats only reserved for The A* GCSE Maths Program™ members.
Be brave, Step out of your comfort zone!
➡️ Moral of the story 1: Step out of your comfort zone…I did, by cooking it (I’m not eating it,🤢 now thats going too far 😅😆🤣)
➡️ Moral of the story 2: Its not just about the maths. One third is maths theory, one third is exam paper practice, the other third is…its a secret. 🤫. Guesses anyone?
Bon appetit everyone!🍽

“The most important thing for me…they really enjoyed it.” Mum (anonymous)
I had to check up on two new students, it was the hardest A* topic to teach to date.
We all had a headache at the end of it.🤯 New things are always stressful. Hard topics are also stressful. A combination of new and hard stuff is…super stress.😫
My headache was better after I read this mums comment. 😄
I don’t know what makes a lesson enjoyable, or how I make it so. I just know I love 💘 to teach the kids so that they just… get it.
And the challenge is trying to teach it to kids who have been told the F-Word (no not that one, the other one ‘FAIL’) by their school teacher. 👩🎓🧑🎓
Can you imagine teaching an A* topic to someone in set 8! Bottom of all bottom sets. Its actually quite possible.🤔
We have a mix of abilities in our A* group, from year 6 to 11’s, to kids who have been told the F-Word (NOOO 😆 not that one!) to gifted and talented kids.
This mum (who wishes to remain anonymous) and I used to go to Prenton High. We were never in any classes together. We didn’t know each other at all. But I knew her better than any other person in my class. When-ever we passed in the corridor, she would say hello to me 🙋♀️.
She was kind and bubbly. And was the life and soul 🥳 of the corridor line ups. Some people make our lives all that more pleasant, by a simple smile 😀, a hello or a 👋.
We remember them for years to come.
On reflection 🤔, maybe this is what makes my lesson’s enjoyable…I laugh and joke 🤪 all the way though the session. It takes away all the hardness and stress of the A* topics, and just makes it all that more fun!😉

There is absolutely 💯 nothing wrong with this pavement! Its a brand new house 🏠, with a brand new pavement and a brand new road.
Pavement before work starts on repavement
As we laughed and joked over two days, fed them cups of tea and samosas, the Workmen said, “It was probably a bit of chewing gum stuck to the floor, maybe wrong colour 🟩, maybe we got money to burn…”
Work starts on repavement
I had the hump for two days…it was my money burning 😯.
Then, something happened 🤔. I started to see deep inside the pavement…there was some radioactive, plutonium, krypton, something dangerous inside…(you know I made it up 😜).
Just because something looks good on the outside, it doesn’t mean its okay on the inside.
When my A Level Chemistry tutor commited suicide, I was really confused. He looked fine. He was laughing, well presented, taught me good👨🎓.
But obviously, something was wrong on the inside. Depression is something we can’t see 🧐. Most people hide this illness, for whatever reason.
Unlike a lot of illnesses, depression can lead to suicide if it is not addressed 😞.
How would you feel if your child was depressed about maths? 😟
How would you even know? 🤔
Most mothers know their children inside out. They JUST know. Children usually express a dislike for a teacher, a subject, a game, a friend etc.
Children haven’t lived long enough to learn that depression in society is deemed as bad or shameful.
Therefore they are happy to express what they don’t like. They will tell you how they feel. They will tell you when they are struggling with maths.
What’s dangerous is when we don’t address this issue of hating maths. So much, so that it leads to consequences of anxiety, biting nails, eventually…depression.
Do we wait until it’s too late? Or do we take action to help them out?
Taking action will remove the fear within you. And eventually remove the fear and depression in kids of absolutely hating maths.
Having a tutor is definitely not the same as going to school. Having extra tuition complements school work and makes life so much easier.
New pavement
Children’s confidence goes up after a few lessons. They feel happier and more empowered. With all this self improvement there is no chance any child will end up feeling depressed about maths.
